Jersey

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands, some 80 miles from UK and 14 miles from France and has excellent links with UK and continental Europe. The autonomous status of the Island under the Crown is reflected in its relationship with the European Union of which it is not a member but benefits from free movement of goods and services whilst not being required to comply with the fiscal and legislative framework of the EU. However it does recognise some of the policies of the EU in regulating its financial services industry. The political and economic stability, the high calibre of the service providers, the highly sophisticated legal and financial service infrastructure, the innovation of the legislation and quality of financial safeguards all contribute to the reputation of Jersey as one of the world's premier offshore jurisdictions. The financial services industry in Jersey is constantly developing to adapt to the changing faces of international finance, leading to an increasing diversity of the financial services provided by the Island.
